Saying 'No' is Vital for Your Goal Achievement!

Living in a country like India will always earn you great values. We all have been taught that we should obey the elders and respect them. All other teachings that have been adding values to our life include honesty, sincerity and generosity. Unfortunately, how hard we may try; we cannot stick to those traditional values in today’s fanciful world.

Here, I am not demotivating readers to forget the values that have been traditionally accepted worldwide. The question is ‘Can you fulfil each and every promise you make’? If not, then who are you boasting of great traditional values.

We need to learn to say no. At times, it becomes necessary to refuse somebody’s proposal. Imagine, you are always in the habit of helping others and you are always up for them. What if you cannot keep your word in a situation which really does not allow you to live up to the expectations of others?
Helping others is good but you need to be aware of the fact that you cannot be available every time for everyone’s help. So, beware of making false promise that might affect your goodwill.
For example, you are in the middle of an important project while you neighbour approaches you with a mood to watch a cricket match. Both are vital to you; what will you prefer. You need to have a clear idea of what is important to you at that time. However, the best way to say no is to saying it politely. Make the other person understand your situation and refuse him in a nice way.

You are not obliged to accompany your friends for a movie every time. Better be focused on your goals and adjust these distractions in a way that it should not divert you from your goals. Even if you waste a single day, it can affect your plan of achieving your goals.
In a nutshell, helping others is the best virtue one can have. I only mean to say that refrain from making false promises and do not let others expect too much that they cannot take ‘No’ from your side positively.

5 Habits to Lead a Better Life!

Let's not get into an impressive introduction! We all somewhere are aware of these facts that can help us leading a quality life but we turn a deaf ear to them. Let's take it seriously now and live a blessed life!

1. Observe Your Thoughts!
Many of us think that we have no control over thoughts. They just occur to us. It is true that we come across good and bad thoughts every day. But we need to observe our thoughts in order to get our energy moves towards right direction. So, if you come across one negative thought, redirect your mind to ten positive thoughts so that negativity would not exist for you.

  2. Make the Right Choice!

Life is beautiful. We all face ups and downs throughout our life. But the best part is that any adversity cannot last for long. Staying positive in difficult situation can not only ease you to face that time easily but also paves a way to a good future. We all have choices to say ‘No’ to Negativity. Don’t allow it if you really do not wish it.

3. Extend Help to Others!
Helping others is the best way to experience true bliss of life. Do not look for excuses; start from where you are. This help can be monetary, morally or emotionally. Be it any form of help, it imbibes the good soul and makes you feel con tended. The more you will help others, the more you will create a good fortune for yourself.

4. Chase Your Dreams!
We all have some dreams in our life. There is a difference between goals and dreams. Goals can be achieved with consistent efforts but dreams can remain unfulfilled if you do not plan your actions. So turn your dreams into your goals and be persistent towards their fulfilment.

  5. Gratitude is the Way!
Feel the power of gratitude. Be thankful for the blessings you have in your life. The more you will be grateful towards little things you have, there will be more reasons to feel grateful for. Remember, gratitude is the most powerful characteristic that one can ever have.

That Midnight Call- 4th & Last Part!

That’s great! Really! When? Emily, out of excitement was not able to ensure which question to ask first when she got a call from James. He was coming back after becoming a successful entrepreneur from U.S.A.

Alisha joined the family after one week knowing that her brother would be coming soon. Edrick got delighted to hear about the arrival of James and started counting the days.

Finally, it was the day when Edrick along with Alisha left for airport to pick up James. Emily stayed back at home as she wanted to prepare a variety of dishes that his son used to love. Few hours passed and Emily’s excitement turned into concern and she rushed to call them. Meanwhile, the doorbell rang and her joy knew no bounds when she saw James. Her little boy turned into a tall and well-groomed gentleman. Alisha and Edrick made their way towards home and James followed them.
Emily sensed the atmosphere which was not normal and excited when they left. She tried to find out the reason of silence and got to know soon.

“James wanted to marry Angela!” Heaving a long sigh, Edrick said. “What?” “How?” and “when did it happen?” Emily could not help asking a series of questions.
After some time, she got a clear picture. Angela was a fellow student in the business school, U.S.A where James studied. By the end of their studies, the feeling developed and they decided to get married.

Conflicts replaced silence which turned into differences of opinion. After 1 month of the emotional outbursts, Emily and Edrick gave their consent to the marriage.

They visited Angela’s home and got to know that her mother died years ago. “Mom, Please ignore if you don’t like something, Angela is my life, I cannot afford to lose her’ James made his best efforts to plead his parents last time.

Angela opened the door; exchanged greetings and pointed them to sit on the sofas lying in the corner of a big hall. Alisha sat beside James and Edrick sat with Emily. After waiting for few minutes, Angela’s father came out. A tall gentleman with curly hair appeared, adjusting his big spectacles on the nose. Emily got shocked to see him. It was Avi whom she wanted to marry once.  Avi, who turned out her proposal years ago. That’s Avi whom she could not forget for a long time.

She sat again on the sofa and tried to behave normally. Avi, too pretended as they were meeting for the first time. After a formal conversation, they left and asked Angela to wait for their decision. Though Edrick was ready to say ‘Yes’ to their relationship but Emily requested Edrick not to utter a single word then.

They came back. Emily got into flashback and recalled everything. She did not want to see Avi anymore. But what’s the fault of James who has fallen in love with a girl, who is Avi’s daughter.
No, “I won’t let it happen again.” Avi, “I can’t be like you”! Having decided this, Emily went to James’ room and kissed his son on forehead. She came out of the room and wiped her tears.

Next morning, she said Edrick to call Avi to fix the wedding date! Emily was contended to see James smiling, an expression of his gratitude!

That Midnight Call-Part 3

‘I’m not crying as you are here’! Finding herself unable to hide tears, Emily sobbed!.
‘I was always there!’ What’s wrong with you? Erick tried to find out. ‘I bring coffee for you’ Emily made an excuse and left.

Erick, having a confused expression moved towards his bedroom and changed clothes. Emily washed her face and tried to smile before appearing in front of Erick again.
Before Erick asked more, the doorbell grabbed their attention. It was a courier for Emily. She received and kept it aside. After sometime, Erick got engaged with few important calls and the atmosphere got back to normal once again.

Emily didn’t go to see Avi. One week passed and she got busy with routine. Keeping pace with time, Emily turned into a mother of two kids, Jenny and James.
Time started flying. Grey hair added grace to Emily’s personality. The age never diminished charisma that Emily had. Edrick also aged gracefully and was busy in growing his business all these years.

Enjoying the bliss of motherhood, she managed responsibilities of professional life for 20 years.

It was her retirement day. Her colleagues came to see her and organized a warm farewell for her. At night, Edrick asked Emily whether they should go to kids who were settled in U.S.A for their career goals. Emily wanted to be with kids but she did not wish to move to a new country altogether.

That Midnight Call-Part 2

Her brilliant student Shreyas wanted to leave early as he had to accompany his mother for hospital.
It reminded Emily that Avi wanted to meet him. But how could they meet, as life has changed, time has changed and everything has changed. Now Erick is everything to him.

Dwelling into thoughts, Emily walked swiftly to her home. Today, she got free by 1 pm which usually does not happen. She moved to kitchen to get a cup of coffee. While boiling milk, she recalled the college days where Avi used to be her best friend. Both loved studying together, sharing notes, cracking jokes and preparing for exams.

“Those were the days!” Emily heaved a long sigh.
‘Oh’! Uttered Emily as the coffee started squeezing and she could have only half cup of coffee. Today, she felt suffocated inside the home. She made her way towards balcony as she wanted to breathe the fresh air.

Memories again knocked at her mind’s door.
What? Have you gone crazy? I never thought of getting married. Why you girls can’t be just good friends? The outburst from Avi brought tears into Emily’s eyes. It was the time when parents insisted Emily to get married and she shared her feelings to Avi who did not value it.

She calmly walked out having an impression in mind that Avi would understand and will come to her soon. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months and months turned into years but Avi was nowhere.

She got to know that he had left the country and flew to France having a professional commitment.
‘It’s not worth to wait for him anymore!’ said Elena, Emily’s best friend. She had been with Emily since her college days and she was the one who had closely observed their friendship turning into love affair.

Elena was a broadminded girl who always used to follow a practical approach. Most of the time, she would suggest what’s right. Unable to decide, Emily bid goodbye to Elena and reached home.
Suddenly, a knock at the door distracted Emily and brought her back to the present. Her husband Erick arrived home. Oh, it’s you. It’s 5 o clock! I didn’t get any sense.

Erick kissed her on the forehead and tried to figure out the reason of her unusual expression today! Tears rolled out of Emily’s eyes when she hugged her husband.

“Are you ok?” Erick asked while fumbling her back with soft touch. ‘What’s making you cry?’

That Midnight Call-1

Oh My God! It was Emily’s first reaction when she noticed her phone ringing alongside her bed at 2:00 a.m.

Finding hard to believe that it was really a call from Avi (that’s how she used to address him) whom she always wanted to avoid, she dragged her hand to the side table and picked it up. She was stunned to believe what she had been listening.

Avi wanted to see her. It was after many years when she got to listen that voice that used to keep her delighted once. She always wanted to talk to Avi for hours but it never happened.

She was stunned and kept listening ‘I wanted to see you Emily, it can be a decision of lifetime. I have always regretted what I did. ‘

Can you hear me? Avi said louder, finding himself unable to listen even a single word from Emily.
‘Yeah’, said Emily, Carry on!

Avi insisted to see her next evening as he flew to Mumbai after 5 years. Time has changed. Now it's Emily who has to decide. Emily, somehow managed to put him off by saying that ‘it’s too late now! We will talk tomorrow’.

Avi hanged up the phone but after ensuring from Emily that they would meet.

The next morning, Emily woke up with a smile as she still felt it like a beautiful dream. She got ready for college where she had been appointed as a Language Professor. She almost forgot about the incidence and might not even thought of it if Shreyas didn’t seek her permission to leave early.

Life is really Simple….We create Complications!

Life is a beautiful maze with lots of ups and downs. A perfect amalgam of dark and bright, life takes us on a bumpy road and gives us mixed memories.

Humans have Treasure of Energy
Do you know that we all human have unlimited source of energy inside which most of the time remains unused and goes waste? Well, this may sound stupid if I say that many of us let our energy flow away on trivial matters. The worthless matters or things are not worth to pay attention but we can’t resist.
Where is your Energy Heading?
If like other people, you do crib on the things like “Why he is like that?” “Why he wears such clothes?” or “Why he has worn white colour, not black or any other colour?” Believe me, it’s not something worth spending energy on. Do prepare yourself for the acceptance which is a good way to ease off your life. The moment you talk like above mentioned things, you are not ready to accept what you see. And the rejection creates turbulence in your mind.

From ‘Rejection’ to ‘Acceptance’
If you see anything that does not go according to your wish, accept it without disturbing your mind and thought process. Simply say, ‘I accept it’ keeping in mind that it’s like that and it will not be as you like and it should not affect you. The most important thing, your happiness should not depend on situations or circumstances. If you can keep your mind stable, nothing can disturb you. If your happiness lies on things like if I wear such clothes and people should appreciate it, then you will be entangled in fluctuating situations every time. Remember, your time and thought process matter to you and beware of wasting energy and direct it to a noble cause. Life has much more which is worth to pay attention.

Make your life simple as much as you can. Live life in a true way!
